John Wesonga Mang’eni
PATRONJohn Wesonga Mang’eni started the library in 2018 when he was aged 30 years old. He works as a Project Manager in one of the local NGOs dealing with youth rehabilitation. His motivation to start the Center stems from his past experience in life.
“In 2002 I joined Lenana School to pursue Secondary School education but due to lack of fees, I dropped out of school. Staying at home was not an option and therefore I joined a church youth group and volunteered in starting a library at the church compound. Serving at the library kept me busy and also cemented my resolve that I must finish my studies. Later in that year I got a sponsor who agreed to pay for my Secondary School education and therefore in January 2003 I was back in school. My time at the church library made me realize that EDUCATION IS THE KEY to stopping the cycle of poverty”
